What is Hushplan?
Hushplan is a free app for planning dinners, birthdays, days out and trips with friends. Everyone sets a private spending limit, and the group sees only which options fit everyone’s budget, never who can spend what. It works on Android and in any browser.
Can the organiser see my limit?
No. Limits are stored in a part of the database that the app itself cannot read. Hushplan only ever returns whether an option fits everyone.
Couldn’t someone work out my limit by adding test options?
We designed against that. Group figures only appear once at least four people have set a limit and are rounded down, quiet-check results appear only after everyone asked has answered, and each plan has a cap on options, including withdrawn ones.
Do my friends need to install the app?
No. Invite links open in any browser, where friends can join, set a limit and vote. The Android app adds notifications and a few conveniences.
What if I don’t set a limit?
You’ll get a quiet check for any option with a price, so your say still counts. You can set or change your limit at any time.
Can Hushplan handle birthdays and trips?
Yes. The birthday person can be treated so they pay nothing, friends can bring up to three guests, and a trip can be planned in parts, such as the stay, the travel and the activities, with one private limit for the whole trip.
Does Hushplan take bookings or handle payments?
No. Hushplan helps the group decide; it doesn’t book anything or move money. Prices are estimates the group enters, and deciding a plan doesn’t commit anyone to pay.
Which languages and currencies does Hushplan support?
English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Turkish, and 36 currencies, from the euro, pound and Swiss franc to the złoty, Turkish lira and US dollar. Each plan uses one currency, chosen by the organiser.
Is Hushplan free?
Yes, planning with friends is free. There are no ads and we never sell data.
Where is my data stored, and for how long?
In the European Union (Frankfurt). Private limits and quiet-check answers are deleted automatically a week after a plan is decided or cancelled. You can download or delete your data at any time.
